Elena had spent time understanding her story, learning to trust Jesus, and bringing wounded places into His light. Now she faced a new question: “What does healing look like when I go back to ordinary life?”
An ordinary moment stirred a familiar ache. Elena felt the pull to replay the past, question her worth, and withdraw.
Elena recognized the familiar pull. She paused. The feeling was real.
Elena once measured healing by asking, “Did the old feeling come back?” Now she was learning to ask, “What did I do when it came?”
A familiar thought appeared:
There were still many true things Elena could say about herself: she was divorced; she had experienced rejection; she had made mistakes; she had survived painful seasons; she was still growing.
But none of those statements answered the deepest question:
“I belong to Christ.” From that foundation, correction could help her grow without destroying her worth; rejection could hurt without naming her; failure could require repentance without becoming identity; another person's opinion could matter without becoming the final measure of her value.
Elena had learned many truths during the journey. Now those truths had to leave the page with her.
At the beginning of the journey Elena had said, “I know how to keep going. I don't know if I know how to heal.”
Now, when a familiar trigger came, she could recognize what was happening sooner. She did not automatically condemn herself. She knew where to take the thought. She was more willing to receive support. She could remember what God said was true and make a different response without needing to feel completely healed first.
There were still places where growth would continue.
Reflection: What truth has Christ shown you during this journey that you now want to practice more faithfully in ordinary life?
Lord Jesus, thank You for walking with me through every stage of this journey. Help me carry what You have shown me into the ordinary days ahead. Renew my mind through Your Word, keep my identity rooted in You, and give me wisdom when old fears, wounds, or patterns return. Teach me to recognize growth without demanding perfection and to receive correction without returning to condemnation. By Your Holy Spirit, help what I believe increasingly shape how I live. Keep me close to You as I continue taking the faithful steps You place before me. Amen.
Keep walking with Jesus.
